Hello My Name Is Johnny Loftus ( Johnnyshutup ) I am the Co-Owner of Shut Up Store My Brother Tom Loftus Is My Partner. Let me tell you the story about how and why Shut Up Store Started. Back in 1978 I formed The Punk Rock Band The Clap and started Making T-shirts to sell at shows.Tom Came along and was acting Manager along with me. We also Started Booking Bands and Having Shows so we Started Clap Unlimited. we used that name for the business for 2 years. we started doing a lot more of booking bands from all over the world and Playing more shows and touring with the Band The Clap which in turn we started making more t-shirts and using more designs. then in 1984 we changed everything and started Strain Productions which grouped all aspects under that name the band booking and everything. Then in 1992 The Original lineup of the Clap Split up. at that I started my Punk Cover band Nostalgia Crisis and t-shirts were made for that band. I only Played in that band off and on through the years then in 1996 I decided to get the Band The Clap back together Since that was my passion ! The Original members were not interested so I set out to find new members. I went through lineups until I found all the right Members . and through those years more t-shirt designs were made more bands were booked more tours were played. until the roof fell in and in 2019 my health took a turn for the worse. I had a foot Operation that went bad I got septic and they couldn’t save my leg, it was too unstable to walk on. So I had My Right leg amputated below the knee. I tried making a comeback but the Infection moved into my spine and I was left with a difficult decision to have a risky possibly fatal operation or be paralized in 2 years. I am a fighter with to much to live for so I had the Operation. I still Have the Band The Clap with a great line up, a new Album Called Relapsed on Violated Records. and we are currently recording with Punk Rock Records in New York. With all of this Happening Tom and I decided to form an LLC doing business as Strain Productions LTD which Includes The Clap , Nostalgia, the booking agency, strain Records, Shut Up Store, Strain Prod. Stage sound and lights Rental and speaker repair . With Shut Up Store and The Clap Being the Major part of the corporation as we needed an outlet to sell our T-shirts and merchandise.
